Customer Service Strategies: Podcast With Raspberry Kids, Part 1

I’m a huge admirer of Chief Executive Mom Sue Sinclair and her company Raspberry Kids, an online lifestyle store that features fresh, healthy and fun products for kids and families.

In the first of three podcasts, Sue shares some tips on how to plan your approach for customer service.

  • Raspberry Kids really tries to make it easy to do business with them.
  • Get it right from the start. It’s hard to do it retroactively.
  • Look for examples to emulate – both globally like Disney or Zappos or locally like Mink Chocolates, where
  • you’re greeted promptly, get what you expected and the experience is fabulous.
  • Hone in the details. We might not have the budget, but we can control the details. It’s the real differentiator for small businesses.
  • Actively listen and give more than expected. Raspberry Kids, for example, includes handwritten thank you card, along with a sachet of raspberry tea, with each delivery.
  • Giving more pays off in dividends.
