Our eighth article in our series: “Coffee Shop Office”
Many times working moms take to the coffee shop to get some work done. There are a few requirements for these entrepreneurs; Coffee, and WiFi. Food is also a bonus.
Cafe Bicyclette, a French style cafe/bistro located in Edmonton’s French Quarter, close to 82nd Ave in Bonnie Doon, and when I say French Style, I mean legitimate Parisian food in Edmonton’s winter, snowy icy climes*.
The food ranges from pastries to the best croque monsieur you’ll have outside of France, accompanied with a delicious hot chocolate or latte, this place .
I went to Cafe Bicyclette on a Friday afternoon to talk strategy and taking over the world with my good friend Kara. It was a warm January afternoon and we had the opportunity to have a fantastic meeting outside on their winter patio. With wood burning stoves and decorative snow walls surrounding the patio it is the best way to spend an unseasonably warm January afternoon!
Barring sitting outside, there’s lots of seating inside and a great place to meet a client for coffee, and lots of room if you’re dining alone laptop in hand. It does get rather busy at lunchtime so if you’re planning on going to get some emails sorted out, try going after 1pm when the lunch crowd has died down.
Parking is also great with ample street parking and a small parking lot behind the building.
Definitely would recommend Cafe Bicyclette for meeting clients, mentors or business partners or for a quiet afternoon alone getting some work done.
*I wrote this and it’s -32 degrees out. It’s cold.
