I am writing this to you from my dining room table. Like many entrepreneurs, who are also mothers, I bend and flex my work around my family and that includes giving up office space in my home to keep the peace between (sometimes) conflict-loving siblings who, ultimately, just needed their own space.
I am writing this to you during a time of exciting change in my life, personally and professionally. The personal, which has helped me in the last few weeks to see that the future is a wide-open, scary and yet so incredibly exciting plane of possibility, I hope to share with you soon. But the professional? Well I am bursting to tell you about that.
I came onboard with Entrepreneur Mom Now last August, and I was fuelled by a passion to help women establish what I had been so lucky to create – a thriving business that felt inline with my values as a working mother. I saw the potential in Entrepreneur Mom Now, to be a part of a vehicle that could transform working culture, the online space, and create new channels for the kind of support us women are so great at – nurturing pats on the back, a place to voice challenges and find solutions, a way to feel more engaged, less alone and swap secrets from the battlefield. I also saw a great opportunity for myself, a writer by trade, to investigate stories I was personally interested in – how-to articles that help women in business, inspirational interviews with business leaders. And I had a vision for more: webinars, conferences, mastermind sessions, mentorship opportunities, courses, start-up funding …
I took baby steps before, but it became apparent I needed to take one giant leap. And so, I am so thrilled to announce to you that I have acquired Entrepreneur Mom Now from Crisp Media. June 1, today, is our official switch over and today I take the reigns and bring to you … some exciting changes to come. My team and I will be looking at how we can improve your experience, and how we can expand our community.
I want to say thank you to all of the community members, and to our fantastic team of City Directors. Thank you for bringing me into this wonderful place to share ideas, and grow together. I am so looking forward to this journey!
Please write to me, anytime, and always if you have any thoughts or concerns.
And here’s a little bit about me:
I began my career in arts management, helping to lead some of Canada’s top theatre companies as a Corporate Sponsorship and then Marketing Manager. After the birth of my second child, I left arts management and pursued my Masters in Comparative Literature, purely for pleasure (and what fun, and hard work it was)
In 2013, after moving across country to be closer to my family, and giving birth to my third child, I opened my own business writing digital copy for some of Canada’s most amazing small businesses (and personal brands). I have more than 7 years experience in digital media, first as the editor of WeeWelcome.ca and then as the co-publisher of HelloCreativeFamily.com. I am a published writer, with a book and several essays under my belt! And very passionate about helping women discover their truth, and succeed with passion, in their work and family life.
