Five words that describe your business
Fun, essential, sometimes quirky, common sense
Describe your business
Sprogs is an online store based here in Edmonton. I try and source out items that will help make your daily challenges with kids a bit easier, and or more fun.
What or who inspired you to start your business?
My kids and my husband. I thought about it one day (like a lightbulb moment) and my husband and mom said, DO IT! If it weren’t for my kids though I wouldn’t of ventured into the “Children Industry.” I’m pretty lucky.
What are your most popular products or services?
What do you love most about what you do?
New products. I love looking for new and cool products! That and getting snuggles from my kids while I’m “working.”
What single piece of advice would you give moms starting their business?
Start slow! You’re not going to make a million in your first month. Take the time to see where you fit in the industry you’re in.
How do you balance being a mom and entrepreneur?
Balance is really difficult. I always say that if I were to give more time to Sprogs and work out the kinks I think I could do some really cool things. Right now, I need to make sure that I am spending time with my family as well. My kids are still pretty small, and they’re only small for a short time. I’ll have time become a mega mogul when they’re older.
What is your motto?
Keep it positive. Always.
What makes you GO?
Having three kids under 6 makes me go, and the need to succeed. I am also my own competitor! I’m always thinking about how I can make it better and then gloating to myself if it worked. I know, sad, but it’s worked so far.
