Address: 2 locations: #201-856-119St SW, Edmonton (Heritage Valley) and 4242-99St, Edmonton (Whitemud)
What or who inspired you to start your business?
I’ve been inspired to start my own business by seeing deficits in my profession and wanting to offer a more direct, inviting and innovative physical therapy services not confined by traditional clinics. Changing people’s views on physical therapy.
Also, my parents and my husband have been extremely integral in giving me the confidence to go ahead with this vision
What are your most popular products or services?
We offer a variety of physical therapy services t, specifically working in sports therapy and chronic pain in order to keep people active and working their best. We also have a women’s health specialist that treats issues related to pregnancy, incontinence and pelvic/sexual pain
What do you love most about what you do?
I love interacting with people. And I love being able to keep them going at whatever their activity is, give them the ability to improve their lives and do so without suffering needlessly with pain and symptoms of being active
How do you balance being a mom and entrepreneur?
Are you trying to be funny? Does anyone have an answer to this?
It isn’t easy. I try to be home as much as I can and do more with my daughter. But no matter how much I am home or not I feel guilty about not doing enough at home or at work
What single piece of advice would you give moms starting their business?
Prioritize. And don’t let yourself feel guilty
How do you relax?
Again…you’re pretty funny. In all honesty I make it a priority to work out, and make sure we have fun and play a lot at home. I enjoy our time with friends. I love our family picnics and movie nights. And I love just talking and playing with my daughter. That is relaxing
What place inspires you and why?
The outdoors mostly, whether it’s in the mountains, in the river valley or just in my backyard. It gives me a sense of clarity and I can think and create ideas
What is your biggest fear?
Missing out on the little moments of my kids growing up because I’ve been too focused on work. There is such little time we get with our kids and they are so precious. I don’t want to wake up with a successful business but not being a successful mom, I’d like to have both if possible
What is your motto?
If it doesn’t kill you it makes you stronger. And you don’t know until you try, what have you got to lose?! I believe in working hard for what you want and making every challenge an opportunity. Sometimes those opportunities disguise themselves and are hard to see, but they are there
What motivates you?
My daughter. Doing things that make her proud and inspiring her to grow up a strong and confident woman. I want her to not rely on anyone else for approval, be proud of who she is, what she decides to be and where she comes from.
What makes you GO?
