RE/MAX River City
WHAT OR WHO INSPIRED YOU TO START YOUR BUSINESS?
My mom, she is an incredibly hard working woman and has been an inspiration to me throughout my life. My grandparents owned their own business and worked hard all their lives. Another quick story, many years ago when I was going to university in Montreal I would walk by this abandon building every day and think how great it would be if someone would buy it and renovate it keeping the brick and old feel but blending it with modern touches. After living in Montreal for just over 5 years and seeing this building almost every day, someone finally bought it and renovated it into amazing condos. This along with my love for marketing started my real estate fire.
WHAT ARE YOUR MOST POPULAR PRODUCTS OR SERVICES?
I enjoy working with both buyers and sellers in all prices ranges, as well as working with builders on new home projects and advising people on what is good for resale when building and renovating.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?
I can honestly say I love the people that I get to work with, the clients that I meet are always so interesting
HOW DO YOU SCHEDULE BEING A MOM AND ENTREPRENEUR?
It is a tough balance, but my mom helps us every day with the kids, they have the best time with their grandparents.
WHAT SINGLE PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE MOMS STARTING THEIR BUSINESS?
If what you are doing is your passion, it is not work. Choose something that makes you jump out of bed every morning with an excitement for the day. Your children naturally give you this excitement but for work make sure it is your natural passion.
HOW DO YOU RELAX?
I go on adventure walks with my kids, 2 hours walking through the river valley or around our neighbourhood helps me relax. Also a nice vacation in January helps, we can relax and work from any where.
WHAT PLACE INSPIRES YOU AND WHY?
Visiting other cities and countries inspires me. Seeing the different architecture and different ways of living energizes me.
WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST FEAR?
Not staying focused on the important things, don’t sweat the small stuff really is important.
WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO?
Live and Love every day, truly enjoy every day, I was diagnosed with cancer at 25 years old and that changed my life for the better. My little wake up call.
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU?
Life, I know it sounds strange but living motivates me. Happiness and providing a fun and exciting life for my children. We waited a long time to have children, one baby is IVF and our 2nd was a nice natural surprise.
WHAT MAKES YOU GO?
For my job, its seeing the happiness in peoples eyes when they walk into their home for the first time, being able to share moment is incredible. A home is where all of our memories start.
Thanks for sharing Kerri-lyn Holland!
