What or who inspired you to start your business?
I was helping someone with her first-aid company. She was talking about all the small children she had to deal with when she was worked for EMS. It was heartbreaking. I love children, and the fact that so many of those injuries were potentially avoidable, it just made sense to do what I can to keep them safe.
What are your most popular products or services?
The home-safety reviews is certainly the main service. Parents want to do everything they can to keep their child(ren) safe. It is amazing how many things get overlooked.
What do you love most about what you do?
I love seeing the small children and knowing that I am creating a safer environment for them to explore. I also enjoy educating parents about hazards and ways to avoid them.
How do you balance being a mom and entrepreneur?
I am lucky my boys are teenagers and I have a very helpful husband. If things start piling up, I hire one of my boys to help me catch up.
What single piece of advice would you give moms starting their business?
Make sure you develop a business plan and be realistic about how much you want to put into it a business and what you want to get out of it.
How do you relax?
Relax? I guess that crafting helps me, even though I do them as a separate business. I love to write. I enjoy reading. But nothing beats a soothing bubble bath.
What place inspires you and why?
I love to be around nature. Everything is calm and beautiful.
What is your biggest fear?
I have so many, too pick one. Um, I suppose putting so much work into the companies and having them never develop beyond what they are now, in their infancy.
What is your motto?
Go ahead and sing in the car, even if people are watching.
What motivates you?
My family: I know everyone says that. But I think for most moms it is that simple.
What makes you GO?
Making a difference, change someone’s live for the better. Every day I get out of bed with one single goal: make at least one person smile and hope they pass it on.
